Preparing for a speaking test

  1. Pick your level

Speaking tests at school and in IELTS-style exams use these same themes: you, your family, your city, your plans. Start at your level and move up when it feels easy.

  2. Answer out loud

Set a one-minute timer and talk. Use a starter only to begin; the follow-up questions are what examiners ask next.

  3. Use the words

Try to fit every word on the card into your answer. Tap a word to see its meaning and an example sentence.

  4. Practise with a listener

An AI language tutor asks the follow-up questions for you and corrects you gently, so the real test feels like the second time.
