VocaFlare Offline Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

This policy explains what data VocaFlare Offline, the offline dictionary app for iOS and Android, collects and why. The app has no account and works without internet, so most of what you do never leaves your phone.

Data controller

VocaFlare is the data controller. You can reach us using the contact details at the end of this policy for any privacy request.

What stays on your device

The dictionary, your word lists, favorites, review cards, streak and statistics are stored only on your device. We do not receive them.

Data we collect

  • Device code: a random identifier created by our purchase provider. It is not your name, email or phone number. It lets the app know whether Pro is active on this device, and it is shown in Settings so you can quote it when you contact us.
  • App opens: when the app starts it sends us the device code, platform (iOS or Android), app language and app version. We use this only to count active installs and to know which versions are still in use.
  • Purchases: our purchase provider and the App Store or Google Play record your Pro purchase or subscription. We never see your payment details.
  • Notifications: if you turn on notifications on Android, we store a push token with the device code so we can send reminders and replies to your messages.
  • Messages to us: if you write to us from the app, we receive your message together with the device code so we can answer.
  • Clip translation: when you ask for a clip sentence to be translated, the sentence and the target language are sent to our server and processed by our AI provider to produce the translation.

Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google. The ad network may collect device identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads. On iOS we do not ask for permission to track you, so ads are not personalized using data from other companies' apps and websites. Pro removes ads. Google's privacy policy explains how it uses this data.

Video clips

Clips play through the official YouTube player, which is operated by Google. When you watch a clip, YouTube may receive your IP address and device information under Google's privacy policy.

Third-party processors

We share data only with providers that help us run the app. Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. We never sell your personal data.

  • Our purchase provider (United States): purchases and Pro status.
  • Google LLC (United States): ads, the YouTube player and Android notifications.
  • Our AI provider (United States): translation of clip sentences. It processes the sentence only to answer the request and does not use it to train its models.
  • Our own servers, which store the device code, app opens, push tokens and messages.

Data retention

Install and open records are kept while the app is in use and deleted on request. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer them. Data on your device is removed when you delete the app.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, including the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and the GDPR where relevant, you can ask to access or delete the data linked to your device code. Send us the code from Settings so we can find it.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the date above and, for material changes, let you know in the app.
